BIOGRAPHY

Roald Dahl once wrote a story about a big, friendly giant – which in 2011 apparently strikingly reminded Arsenal fans of their new head of defence. The Big friendly Giant (or was it the Big f* German?) quickly became the BFG and later the captain of the venerable club from London. With that, the much-sung player finally silenced any doubters. 104 international matches (one more than Kaiser Franz), three FA Cup victories, a DFB cup victory or the 2014 World Cup title also contributed to this. Pers’ critical thinking is much more sustainable than any ephemeral fame in the fast-paced football business. If he takes a position, his opinion is (inter)nationally respected. It is worth much more than a barrel of ice, for instance. Per is taking his carefully considered first steps after his career as head of the Arsenal FC Academy.
